Be-a-Teacher Loan

Our communities need more teachers. Yesterday.

In partnership with the North Coast School of Education (NCSOE) through the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE), Community First puts schools first with an innovative loan program that pays the tuition of intern teachers or prospective administrators.

  • Max loan of $8,500 – split into two annual loans of $4,250 each
  • 4.29% (APR) - even though this is a post-graduate program, as well as an unsecured loan, we mimic the advantageous 2016 Stafford undergraduate rate
  • 48-month term, no pre-payment penalty

This loan product is available for teachers/administrators seeking positions throughout Lake, Napa, Mendocino, and Sonoma counties. SCOE has more details about the teacher and administrator program, and what's needed prior to applying for a loan.  Or, contact our in-house education loan expert, Rebecca Nystrom-Brito (rnystrom@comfirstcu.org, 707/543-2654).
