Community First Debit Card How-To's

In our new Digital Banking Experience, you can send us requests to manage your debit card, like:

Helpful Phone Numbers

Turning your CFCU Debit Card On/Off

To keep your account safe, it might be necessary to turn your card off.

To turn you card off:

  1. Login to Digital Banking
  2. Click on 'Tools' then 'Message Center'
  3. Click on 'Compose'
  4. Select your 'Subject' as 'Turn Debit Card On/Off'
  5. Type us a message, making sure to include 'Turn my debit card [type on or off]', AND, the last 4 digits of your Debit Card

About Turning Your Card On/Off

  • We will process your request before the end of the business day, Monday-Friday at 5:30p. If on a weekend, we will process it the next business day.
  • Your card will be temporarily turned off until you tell us to turn it back on. Be aware, if your card is still turned off after 30 days, it will be permanently blocked.
  • Turning your debit card off will prevent many, but not all, transactions, including some automatic payments you may have set up.
  • If you feel your card has been stolen or fraudulent transactions have occurred, please refer to the Replacement Card section.

Travel Notifications

In the event you are traveling, be it outside your state or to another country, a travel notification will prevent our fraud prevention software from blocking your transactions.

To add a travel notification:

  1. Login to Digital Banking
  2. Click on 'Tools’ then ‘Message Center’
  3. Click on 'Compose'
  4. Select your 'Subject' as "Travel Notification'

You will then type us a message that includes the following:

  • The date you are leaving
  • The date you are returning
  • The locations you are travelling to (State and Country names only, no cities or regions)
  • The last 4 digits of your Debit Card

We will process your request before the end of the business day, Monday-Friday at 5:30pm. If on a weekend, we will process it the next business day.

Replacing your ATM/Debit Card

If your ATM or debit card is lost, stolen, or is physically damaged, you can get a replacement.

You have two options to get a replacement:

  1. Visit a branch. You'll get a new card printed instantly.
  2. Send us a request. You'll get a new card in the mail within 7-10 business days.

To send us a request for a replacement debit card:

  1. Login to Digital Banking
  2. Click on 'Tools' then 'Message Center'
  3. Click on 'Compose;
  4. Select your 'Subject' as 'Request Replacement ATM/Debit Card'
  5. Type us message that includes the following:
  • The last 4 digits of your Debit Card
  • The status of your card: (Choose Lost, Stolen, or Physically Damaged)
  • Where you want your new card delivered. (Send your mailing address, or a branch you'd like to pick up your card at)

About Replacing your ATM/Debit Card

  • We will process your request before the end of the business day, Monday-Friday at 5:30p. If on a weekend, we will process it the next business day.
  • If your card is lost or stolen, your replacement debit card will have a new number. You will need to update your card number for any automatic payments you have scheduled.
  • If your card is physically damaged, your replacement debit card number will not change.

Order a new ATM/Debit Card

If you do not have an ATM or Debit Card for your checking account and would like to request one.

You have two options to order an ATM or debit card:

  1. Visit a branch. You'll get a new card printed instantly.
  2. Send us a request. You'll get a new card in the mail within 7-10 business days.

To send us a request to order an ATM or debit card:

  1. Login to Digital Banking
  2. Click on 'Tools' then 'Message Center'
  3. Click on 'Compose;
  4. Select your 'Subject' as 'Order ATM/Debit Card'
  5. Type us a message that includes "Request New ATM Card" OR "Request New Debit Card"

About Ordering a new ATM/Debit Card

  • We will process your request before the end of the business day, Monday – Friday at 5:30pm. If on a weekend, we will process it the next business day.
  • Debit cards require a checking account. Savings accounts will be issued an ATM card.
